To The Temple
I started working on this album about four years ago. I made the arrengements for the himns and the other ones are original compositions. I started playing piano when I was about eight years old; my grandma used to teach me, but after a couple months I stopped taking classes. I kept playing by ear, and then I started composing my own songs. This is the first time I do something like this, so I hope people like my music. The title is very personal. My family and I decided we would call the CD "To the Temple" before I went to the mission. So, now that I'm back, I wanted to keep it that way. One thing that characterizes this album is the dominion of the minor chords applied to the himns as well, and more expressively, to the original pieces. This is the reminder of the sacred and reverent spirit of the temple and the preparation to enter that holy place. It is also a reminder of the hard trials one goes through before serving a mission and attending the temple. It has different kinds of rythm and tones. It combines different kinds of speed, volume which enables one to go on a journey back to when we were getting ready to serve. |
