DOUGLAS EREKSON

Douglas Erekson is a maverick musician in every sense of the word. His unique sense of being is found in every aspect of his life. Until recently, he drove a rusty 64 VW bug. He does not own a cell phone, have TV or cable, nor the internet beyond dial-up email. He is a mild germ-a-phobe, partially blind in one eye, has a slight walking disability, and when on a gold-mining expedition at age 14 he was nearly killed, losing his spleen. Douglas Erekson was born in Aurora, Illinois, but grew up in Billings, Montana. He completed a B.A. in Music and in Film Production at BYU. Later, he earned a Masters from U.S.C in screenwriting. Presently, he teaches music at the Utah Conservatory of Music in Park City, Utah.
