Pianist, Alison Beck, earned her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of North Texas, one of the largest music schools in the nation, where she held a highly competitive piano fellowship and graduated first in her class. At UNT, she studied piano with Pamela Mia Paul and Gustavo Romero, and also received a minor in collaborative piano and a secondary in violin. Alison holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Centenary College, where she studied with Russian concert artist, Mark Zeltser, graduating summa cum laude. Alison began studying piano at age nine; made her solo debut at fourteen, and her concerto debut at fifteen. She is a prizewinner of various international piano competitions, and has been featured as guest artist with several orchestras, performing Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, and Schumann's Piano Concerto in A minor. Also an accomplished violinist and chamber musician, Alison has performed numerous concerts throughout the United States, including in Carnegie Hall, New York City. “December Carols” features Alison's Christmas arrangements for piano and violin, written for the sisters to perform in concert. In addition to these works and other sacred arrangements for piano and violin, she has written and arranged numerous vocal and choral works, many of which have been presented in concert. ELIZABETH BECK, VIOLIN
Sixteen-year-old violinist Elizabeth Beck studies in Dallas, Texas with concert artist Dr. Chu Yunn Lee, of Seoul, Korea. At age six, Elizabeth began studying violin and made her solo debut at age nine. She has won first and second prizes in solo string competitions playing Ravel's Tzigane, Bach's Sonata in G minor, and Franck's Sonata for Violin and Piano, among others, and has performed recitals and participated in masterclasses in colleges and universities. As a home-schooled student, Elizabeth is able to maintain an active performing schedule with her sister, as well as participate in regional and All-State orchestras. Elizabeth began playing annual tours of “December Carols” at age fourteen, and the sisters often volunteer to play in elementary schools, performing concerts of high-energy classical music for underprivileged children in both inner-city and rural environments. Additionally, Elizabeth enjoys singing in her church youth choir and participating in their annual tours.
